Abstract

It is necessary to move from a paradigm of development as economic growth to one of development as well-being. It is vital to start thinking about development not in terms of greater income but in terms of people being satisfied with life. The paradigm shift needs to get rid of the notions of capital which are associated to the paradigm of progress as economic-growth; these notions must be supplanted by a narrative based on the drivers of well-being.
