Abstract
Bratislava as the capital city of the Slovak Republic is an attractive part of central European space and essential center of economics, services and education. Urban development, non-compact urban structure and gradual extension of the town by surrounding villages significantly influenced mobility within the Bratislava City. Despite that Bratislava belongs to European capital cities with one of the lower densities of population (1,146 inhabitants/km2), non-compact residential form creates significant pressure on transport infrastructure. The submitted contribution focuses on the development of a new urban quarter in the center of Bratislava. The authors investigate the impact of particular developmental activities (building skyscraper quarter for two billion Euros) in the development area interconnected with the overall town mobility. The aim of the contribution is the evaluation of the suggested alternative solutions of the intelligent transport system in Bratislava, which are part of the development projects in the center of Bratislava.
