Abstract

The purpose of this papers is presentation of applicability for the Expert System (ES) model in the Technological Equipment Reengineering (TER), in the manufacturing industry. These papers include the exemplary applicability of Expert System when organizing the Technological Equipment (TE) operation, knowledge processing for the selected methods and AI techniques, decision-making criteria defining the TER scope, manufacturing process component properties and relationships, as well as applicability of ES model in TER, on the basis of fuzzy Cognitive Maps. In summary of these papers the following is provided: grounds for the developed concept model, problems when creating the ES-supporting decisions in TER, activities required for implementation of ES and anticipated areas of application.
