Abstract
Stable and sustainable gas supply is an integral part of the social and economic development of Ukrainian regions. As functioning components of the gas transportation system, gas distribution companies influence Ukraine’s economic processes and form its favorable international climate of a transit center. Among the numerous problems facing gas markets of regions of Ukraine are ensuring their competitiveness conditions, improving production facilities, creating conditions for mutually beneficial tariff, and formation focused management of the national liberalized gas market. The issue of strategic goals and directions of organizational and economic activity of gas distribution companies, their functioning peculiarities and individual approach to regulation in regions of Ukraine require a survey. The methodical approach to the efficiency analysis of gas distribution companies, contradictory public attitude, and market position are the preconditions for an insightful analysis to identify the main factors hampering the development and efficiency of gas distribution companies.
