Abstract

In this paper it has been tried to proof that by the design of a user centered quick diabetes urine detector, the number of potentially risked number of diabetes patients could be considerably reduce, first by showing the need for new solutions for the diabetes detection problem in Mexico and exposing the current statistics, then a hypothesis to contribute to the solution of this problem was made, which in this case was the fabrication of the previous described urine detector. After research a design was made and tested in 25 users to see its usability and other ergonomic variables to be considered. The results contribute to the improvement of the final design; and allow it to have that great usability which was searched. The paper ends by the conclusion emphasizing how diabetes patients could be potentially helped by the commercialization of the proved device.
