Abstract

Technology skills are now an important factor in closing the social gap between individuals. Are they also important in higher education? This work aims to analyze the impact of the use of ICTs on the university performance of Moroccan students. For this, we study the behavior of 1958 students spread over 8 regions, while taking into account regional disparities, which is not commonly used in previous work. Using an ordered Probit model, we find that technological skills have a positive impact on students’ academic performance. This impact is stronger for those following their studies in scientific disciplines in private establishments, and living in regions with a low level of development.
