Abstract
“Prefabrication and Modular Building” and “BIM” were two major buzzwords in the industry of construction in 2017. If the Prefabrication and Modular Building refers to a revolution in building production, BIM (Building Information Modeling) [2] application will act as an important technical means to promote the revolution. BIM technology can be applied in the design, construction, operation and maintenance, demolition and other full life cycles of construction field. As a newly applied technology, BIM is able to digitally virtualize and informatively describe the elements of various buildings as well as achieve the collaborative design of information, the visual assembly, the interaction of engineering information and the simulation and verification of node connection. Prefabricated buildings can use BIM technology to integrate various industrial chains and realize an all-round information integration. In the era when the connection between industrial elements and informational elements becomes closer and closer, BIM technology will be integrated with the prefabricated buildings in a perfect way so as to promote the innovation and development of the construction industry and even overturn the traditional construction industry.
