Abstract
The need for sustainable development has been widely recognized by governments and enterprises and has become a hot topic of various disciplines including ergonomics and industrial engineering. Sustainable development can only be achieved if impacts and benefits on current and future generations of humans are focused according to the three dimensions of sustainability. The paper provides an overview on indicators and goals for sustainable production planning and controlling (sPPC) processes in manufacturing companies from an Ergonomic perspective. This was done based on a root cause analysis. For the analysis, the main stakeholder groups for sPPC are identified, and sustainable indicators and goals are selected through a text review according to the interests of the stakeholder groups. The results can be used as basis to support and improve the outcome of the sPPC process discussions with company managers, experts and employees’ representatives.
