Abstract

In this brief presentation we will emphasize on what is essential for managerial activity from the psychological perspective. The influence of social environment on human productivity from the activity theory point of view is discussed in this work. Social interaction between the manager and subordinates is considered through the framework of the systemic-structural activity theory. Specific attention is paid to the way managers relate to subordinates and how this factor effects the group moral and psychological atmosphere in the workplace. We will dwell on the history of motivation in industry and analyze the concept of management and manager. We will present some important factors of the psychological nature which can be applied to the practice of management for achieving the team’s objectives. Such factors as motivation, consideration for subordinates’ personality features, the individual style of performance, the effect of a group environment on individual performance and the phenomenon of compatibility are considered in our work in utilizing the systemic approach.
