Abstract

At present, when urbanization is going on swiftly and on a large scale in Mainland China, subway has actually become an important vehicle for propagating a city’s cultural philosophy and manifesting regional customs owning to the use of various forms of public art. Looking back through the city subways in the world, many of them are excellent manifestations of historical features and representations of modern innovations owing to the use of various forms of public art. How to make posters, one of the forms of public art, culturally loaded when constructing distinct and unique subway public space in cities is what this paper intends to explore, and accordingly, a three-step procedure is proposed: collecting regional cultural elements, making creative designs and evaluating designs.
