Zusammenfassung
Das mentale Gedächtnis steuert das Immunsystem, in dem das Gehirn zum Beispiel die Hemmung des Immunsystems mittels Konditionierung erlernt (Pawlow!). Diese Methoden könnten bei Transplantierten eingesetzt werden, um die Dosis der medikamentösen Immunhemmung zu verringern. Das Plazebothema wird in diesem Zusammenhang erläutert und mit der Regulation des Energiehaushaltes in Verbindung gebracht. Andersherum steuert auch das Immunsystem das mentale Gedächtnis, was sehr deutlich an der Wirkung des Zellhormons Interleukin-1 oder auch mittels immunologischen T-Zellen sichtbar wird, die starken Einfluss auf das mentale Gedächtnis und das Lernen nehmen. Bei einer infektiösen Aktivierung des Immunsystems wird des Weiteren das Angstlernen verstärkt.
