Special Issue: Technology and Policy for Sustainable Environmental Footprint Reduction

Technology development, process optimisation and waste recovery play an essential part in environmental sustainability. However, they will not work without practical considerations. This Special Issue calls for papers demonstrating the integration of technology and policy solutions toward saving resources and emissions. Integrating technology and policy solutions should focus on, but are not limited to, the following topics:

- Heat Integration and energy saving

- Total Site Integration

- Industrial process retrofit and improvement

- Renewable energy and utility systems

- Process simulation

- Systems and product synthesis

- Mathematical optimisation

- Process analysis and modelling

- Heat exchangers and heat transfer

- Cleaner production

- Footprint minimisation and mitigation

- Circular Economy and integration

- Power systems design and optimisation

- Sustainable energy planning

- Operations and supply chain management

- Waste and wastewater management

- Waste-to-energy

- Process dynamics and control

- Reactor and catalyst engineering

- Fluid dynamics

- Sustainable materials

- Knowledge transfer

- Energy Storage

How to submit:

Manuscripts should be original and written in English. The suggested length per article is up to 10,000 words, excluding references. Submission requires that the manuscript has not been submitted for review or publication elsewhere and that it will not be submitted elsewhere while the review process is underway. All papers go through peer review by at least two experts; in the cover letter that accompanies the article, please suggest a number of reviewers’ names. Papers should be submitted online via this link.

Please indicate that your manuscript belongs to the “PRES22+ICLCA22” special issue during the submission process. Details about the preparation of the manuscript can be obtained from the journal's webpage.
