Zusammenfassung
Autonome Funktionsstörungen können das sympathische, parasympathische oder enterische Nervensystem isoliert oder in Kombination betreffen. Ursächlich hierfür sind Erkrankungen sowohl des peripheren als auch des zentralen Nervensystems. Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über die Verlaufsformen und Therapie autonomer Funktionsstörungen. Für den Einsatz zusatzdiagnostischer Verfahren wird ein Algorithmus empfohlen, der sich am klinischen Beschwerdebild orientiert. Sofern autoimmune, metabolische, infektiöse oder auch degenerative Erkrankungen nachweisbar sind, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass durch die Behandlung der Ursache eine Verbesserung der autonomen Nervenfunktionen erzielt werden kann.
