Abstract
Cancer-associated retinopathy (CAR) is a subgroup of autoimmune retinopathy caused by paraneoplastic anti-retinal antibodies. It is characterized by bilateral, rapidly progressive, painless vision loss, often out of proportion to the clinical exam. Visual field testing typically shows scotomas and/or constriction. Electroretinography (ERG) often shows decreased amplitudes or delayed peak-times but may be within normal range or near-normal early in the disease.
