Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering - CALL FOR PAPERS:

Challenges and Recent Advancements in Nuclear Energy Systems

Nowadays, most countries are interested in ensuring the sustainable and low-cost energy sources that have minimal impact on the environment. In that context, considerable attention has been given to nuclear energy. In the framework of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, nuclear energy is envisaged to play a prominent role. Accordingly, significant efforts have been put forward that will make Saudi Arabia as the biggest nuclear power producer in the middle east. In that spirit, first of a kind special issue will be published in the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering (AJSE) to promote the nuclear engineering initiatives, as well as encourage nuclear research and development within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Subject Coverage

Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Nuclear initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Nuclear thermal-hydraulics.
  • Nuclear reactor design enhancements: from evolutionary to innovative systems.
  • Codes verification and validation: Transient and accident performance, severe accident analysis, nuclear plant security, natural disaster initiated severe accidents.
  • Recent advances in experimental thermal hydraulics analysis and testing.
  • Improved nuclear thermal hydraulics code development and qualification.
  • Innovative hybrid nuclear-renewable energy systems.Nuclear materials for fuel, cladding, reactor pressure vessel, internal structures.
