Zusammenfassung
Menschen leben in sozialen Netzwerken, die sie befähigen das eigene soziale Kapital aufzubauen und zu erweitern. Dieses wirkt identitätsstiftend, gibt Geborgenheit und Sicherheit, schafft Vertrauen sowie Orientierung und ermöglicht den Zugang zu multiplen Ressourcen. Zu diesen gehören Wissen, Information und Unterstützung, was sich wiederum insbesondere im Arbeitskontext positiv auf die berufliche Entwicklung und Integration, sowie das gesellschaftliche Umfeld und auch die Organisationen auswirkt. Aufgrund politischer, ökonomischer und sozialer Herausforderungen verlassen viele Menschen ihre Heimat. Damit geben sie ihr eigenes soziales Netzwerk größtenteils auf und müssen sich in der Aufnahmegesellschaft neue Netzwerke aufbauen. In diesem Beitrag wird das soziale Kapital von Migranten, deren entstehendes interkulturelles Kapital sowie positive Auswirkungen der beiden Kapitalarten auf Organisationen thematisiert. Migranten verfügen über eine spezifische Kombination sprachlicher und interkultureller Kompetenzen, welche Potenzial für konstruktive Problemlösungen bietet und so zum Erfolgsfaktor für Organisationen wird. Dieses interkulturelle Kapital in ihren jeweiligen sozialen Netzwerken macht sie zu interkulturellen Boundary Spannern, die in Gegenwart und Zukunft Brücken zwischen Organisationen, Herkunfts- und Aufnahmegesellschaften bauen. (Aus Gründen der leichteren Lesbarkeit wird auf eine geschlechtsspezifische Differenzierung wie z. B. Migrant/in, MigrantIn, Migrant∗in, oder Migrant_in verzichtet. In dem vorliegenden Beitrag wird durchgängig die männliche Form benutzt. Entsprechende Begriffe gelten im Sinne der Gleichbehandlung für beide Geschlechter und stellen keine Diskriminierung dar.)
