Abstract
Abraham ben David Portaleone (Mantua 1542–1612), Jewish physician and author of an encyclopedic-religious work written in Hebrew the Shilte ha-gibborim and of a Latin treatise in form of dialogue on the properties of gold (Dialogi tres de auro) which features epistemological considerations on the value of human knowledge and on its relation to religion and faith.
