Definition
Alfred Russel Wallace (January 8, 1823–November 7, 1913) was a British naturalist, geographer, and theoretician in biology. Mostly known as the co-author of the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection along with Charles Darwin, Wallace was also the founder of biogeography.
Introduction
Human evolution, particularly the evolution of high psychological faculties, was a controversial topic on the rising of evolutionary theory in the mid-nineteenth century. A comprehensive reading of The Origin of Species (Darwin 1859) reveals the discomfort generated by the inclusion of human beings in the evolutionary process.
