Skill requirements are the competencies which are necessary for the proper performance of professional duties. These are abilities and knowledge that an employee has to have to cope completely with work tasks.
Introduction
The study of city administrators’ skills is of current importance nowadays (Reddick and Demir 2014; Hewins-Maroney and Williams 2013; Leighninger 2010). The question remains unresolved as to what set of skills, knowledge, and personal qualities city administrators must have. This article is devoted to studying of the peculiarities of city-level officials’ professional activity in Russia, namely, the relevant competencies comprising the base of their specialties. The state’s recently increased determination to standardize the sector of employment has been reflected in development of professional codes for many professions.
