Definitions
United Nations defines, “youth as people between the ages of 15 and 24 years.” Today’s youth is not constraint by any gender, caste, religion, background, which makes youth quite strong as they are not divided. According to UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target for 2030, the number of youths is estimated to grow by 7%, up to 1.3 billion (United Nations 2020). “There are 1.2 billion young people aged 15 to 24 years, accounting for 16 per cent of the global population” in 2020 (United Nations 2020). The meaning of “youth” translates into the ability and power of making things happen (Youth Defination 2013; United Nations 2020). Strength in numbers for the youth today has emerged into massive social movements; this has resulted in the youth voicing out concerns and raising pertinent issues in governance and elsewhere.
