Definitions
Women frequently endure gender inequality within the labor market, society, and respective companies and corporates. The economic development of women is advantageous to the growth and development of a country: an economically empowered woman has greater power in changing her own reality and the reality of women and family around her. The principles for the empowerment of women emerged from a partnership of the United Nations (UN) and the Global Pact, with an intent to train and empower women in jobs, corporates, and communities. This alliance was formed with a primary focus on the empowerment of women in a corporate context. There are seven principles, from respect and equality between men and women within jobs to promoting equality in community initiatives and women’s role in the community.
