Definitions
Micro-entrepreneurship is the creation of a business opportunity with the expectation of maintaining a small size, engaging in trade immediately, and learning as one goes, with success dependent on one’s personal definition or desire (Torregrossa 2016). These small entrepreneurial businesses are typically owner operated and employ fewer than five people. Micro-entrepreneurship offers income-earning opportunities in emerging economies.
Women empowerment, according to Rowlands (1995), is a process in which women become more self-reliant and assert independence in making choices and controlling their resources to eliminate insubordination. This self-reliance and independence are facilitated by self-efficacy and social capital.
