Definition

Agricultural production is a complex production process. In this process, soil, water, and biological resources and other agricultural inputs are used and plants, animal products, aquaculture, and other outputs are produced.

Food security exists when all human beings at all times have the physical, social, and economic opportunity to obtain sufficient, safe, and nutritious food to meet their food needs and preferences for active and healthy life. CSA (2012) has identified the fourth pillar in addition to these three pillars, which is stability of access capacity determined by price and purchasing power, food availability and quality, and diets. Food availability refers to the existence in a region, nation, or family of sufficient quantities of food, regardless of its origin (Bricas 2012).
