Definition
Empowering and mobilizing youth for Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12) can be understood as the act of engaging youth in democratic participation and social innovation for promoting SDG 12 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: ensure responsible consumption and production patterns.
Introduction
In 2015, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly unanimously adopted an agreement called “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” including its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets for the coming years. The preamble of the Declaration accompanying the Agenda states “the SDGs and targets are integrated and indivisible” (UN 2015), which means all problems are interconnected.
