Definitions
Sustainable consumption: is a practical approach to attaining sustainable development, incorporating the economy, society, and the surrounding environment (Brinzan et al. 2012). Black and Cherrier (2010) define sustainable consumption as a departure point for dealing with sustainable related issues. This may constitute either consuming in a different fashion and/or consuming less (Peyer et al. 2017) or making more from less (Hobson 2002). Hence, in order for sustainable consumption to become regular practice, it is necessary changing the lifestyles adopted by individuals (Hobson 2002; Newman et al. 2012; Chen 2017).
Anti-consumption: there are various trends and currents surrounding sustainable consumption that in some cases imply drastic alterations in the lifestyles of consumers including the anti-consumption.
