Zusammenfassung
Bei der Chorea handelt es sich um unwillkürliche, abrupt einschießende, nichtrepetitive, distal betont am ganzen Körper auftretende Hyperkinesen, die auf eine Läsion des Striatums zurückzuführen sind. Man kann genetische Formen, deren wichtigster Vertreter die Huntington-Erkrankung (HD) ist, von symptomatischen Formen, wie z. B. der Sydenham-Chorea, unterscheiden.
