Zusammenfassung

Die „periphere Neurologie“ ist die Domäne der Elektroneuro- und -myografie. Die Ultraschalldiagnostik ist ein nicht etabliertes Verfahren, dass zunächst überwiegend wissenschaftlich genutzt wird. Es fehlt daher an einer klaren Validierung der Methode, wenngleich in den letzten Jahren zusehends mehr belastbare Daten hinsichtlich ihres Einsatzes zu lesen sind. Bei den Kompressionssyndromen liegt der Stellenwert der Ultraschalldiagnostik in der Klärung der Ätiologie. Nachfolgend wird auf praxisrelevante Aspekte der Nervensonografie in den Indikationen entzündliche Polyneuropathie und Nervenkompressionssyndrome eingegangen.
