Zusammenfassung
Die Myotonie präsentiert sich klinisch als verzögerte Muskelrelaxation nach Ende einer willkürlichen Muskelanspannung oder als reizinduzierte tonische Kontraktion. Allerdings besteht nicht bei jeder myotonen Erkrankung eine klinische Myotonie. Die im EMG nachgewiesenen myotonen Entladungsserien sind da spezifischer. Allerdings sind diese EMG-Veränderungen nicht ausschließlich bei Myotonien nachweisbar, sondern finden sich auch bei anderen Erkrankungen, wie z. B. anderen Myopathien (myofibrillären Myopathien, IBM, Glykogenose Typ 2, maligne Hyperthermie) oder auch neurogenen Prozessen.
