Delfino Codazzi (∗March 7, 1824, in Lodi, Italy; †July 21, 1873, in Pavia, Italy) was a mathematician with contributions to differential geometry.
Professional Carrier
After completing his education (graduated in mathematics at the University of Pavia), Delfino Codazzi taught mathematics and natural science at the secondary school in Lodi, and then he moved to Pavia where he taught mathematics at the secondary school there. Teaching in secondary schools is maybe not the best place to undertake deep research. Nevertheless this period was an extremely important and productive period for Codazzi. In 1865, he got the appointment as a professor of complementary algebra and analytic geometry at the University of Pavia. He remained in his position until his death.
Scientific Achievements and Honors
