Infinite Dilution Activity Coefficient of Compound in Ionic Liquids

Introduction

The infinite dilution activity coefficient reflects an extreme situation in which the solute molecules are entirely surrounded by solvents. This property describes the interaction between the solute and solvent molecules without the interaction of solute molecules. The infinite dilution activity coefficient of compounds in ionic liquids (ILs) reflects the solubility and selectivity of ILs to the compound and is mainly used to evaluate the separation performance of ILs. Moreover, the infinite dilution activity coefficient of compounds in ILs indicates the strength of interaction between the compound and IL molecules, and it plays a vital role in the applications of petroleum, chemical industry, environment, and biology.
