Transformation of Models in Teacher Education in China, From Training to Learning

Introduction

From the evolution of the teacher education system in Europe, America, Japan, and other countries, there is a logic: the closed teacher education system with the orientation training mode as the core as the starting point and gradually move toward to the open teacher education system with the nondirected training mode. Different from the relatively straight trajectory shown in the evolution of teacher education system in Europe and the United States, the evolution of China’s higher teacher education system presents a historical appearance similar to the “pendulum phenomenon”: the establishment of a closed teacher education system as a starting point. And the model transformation of teacher education in China shows a clear feature: diversified openness and independent training.
