Introduction

The management system of primary and secondary school teachers is not only very important for the quality of teachers but also may exert great influence on the primary and secondary education. Over the past 40 years since the adoption of the reform and opening-up policy, the county-supervised management system of primary and secondary school teachers has been established. The teacher management system has made a great contribution to stabilizing the teacher team as well as ensuring teacher’s quality. Therefore, this entry tries to sort out the four components of the teacher management system in the past 40 years, namely, teacher certification system, teacher’s salary system, teacher’s professional title system, and teacher’s rotation exchange system, with the aim of obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the teacher management system in China.
