Zusammenfassung
Adenoviren vermehren sich primär in den Epithelien der Schleimhäute und erzeugen dabei typische (Keratokonjunktivitis epidemica, pharyngokonjunktivales Fieber) und untypische (Bronchitis, Pneumonie, Gastroenteritis) Krankheitsbilder. Eine spezifische Diagnostik ist bei den gastroenteritischen Erkrankungen durch Schnelltest, bei den übrigen durch PCR möglich. Die Therapie ist primär supportiv. Schwererkrankte können mit Cidofovir (deutliche Nebenwirkungen), Immuninkompetente mit Adenovirus-spezifischem adoptivem Immuntransfer (experimentell) behandelt werden.
