Zusammenfassung
Kognition und kognitives Training im Sport ist ein viel beachtetes Themenfeld an der Schnittstelle von Sport- und Kognitionswissenschaft. Für die Erklärung sportlicher Höchstleistungen stehen die visuelle Wahrnehmung und Aufmerksamkeit im Fokus der Betrachtungen. Unterschiede in der sportlichen Expertise spiegeln sich beispielsweise in der Güte der visuellen Antizipation gegnerischer Handlungsabsichten oder der Quiet-Eye-Periode wider. Darauf aufbauende sportspezifische Trainingsprogramme sollen neben allgemeinen Wahrnehmungstrainings helfen sportliche Leistung zu optimieren. Der derzeitige Erkenntnisstand der Kognitionsforschung legt darüber hinaus nahe, dass sportliche Aktivität sowohl unmittelbar als auch bei regelmäßiger Ausführung positive Effekte auf kognitive Prozesse haben kann.
