Zusammenfassung
Emotionen sind ein zentraler Bestandteil des sportlichen Wettbewerbs. Auf Grund des wechselseitigen Verhältnisses von Emotionen und sportlicher Leistung wird zum einen beschrieben, wie Emotionen im Wettbewerb entstehen, und zum anderen, wie diese die sportliche Leistung beeinflussen. Darüber hinaus wird auf die Ursachen und Konsequenzen von Stress als ein verwandtes Thema eingegangen. Darauf basierend wird zuletzt Coping als eine Möglichkeit vorgestellt, mit den verschiedenen Stressoren des Sports umzugehen.
